"I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding" by John O’Donohue is what I call one of “my signature quotes”. It moved me deeply the first time I heard it, and continues to this day.
My chest expands as I read “I would love to live like a river flows” melting something away. I enter the river and surrender. I know exactly who I am, and where I am meant to go. I am the river. Would I only flow with the impulses of my own nature. No less, no more.
Now, “carried by the surprise” jumps my heart and shakes my chest gently yet firmly. A little leap of excitement, a forward movement, a taste of magic and possibility nested in all that certainty of self and assurance of direction. How exciting! Stubbornness, resilience, creativity, patience and determination are called into question at every turn, at each boulder blocking the way. Carve those banks away, do not let anything stop you! Then suddenly unhurried, gurgle and stretch, carry what enters you into the dance. Yes, it is the journey of unfolding.
Asking the question about your inner impulses is an act of creativity. And in creativity you can find enough answers, at every turn, to impulse your unfolding. Creativity is the flow of the river, the surprise, the unfolding and all the carving, persisting, forgetting, and expanding that goes along the way.
We are like rivers following the urge towards the core of our nature, towards home. Not a place of arrival but a place of source. Home is where our gifts ripen to be shared with the world, where we find solace and strength, where we grow wisdom, ripen maturity, and let the collective carry us without losing our beat.
Creative is asking the timeless questions of identity and purpose. Creative is listening to perceive life flowing inside of us. The Prana, the Mana, the Chi…sad for those who cannot name it! The life flow is unmeasurable mystery, the equation not yet found, the undiscovered answers, is the glue of creation, its seed and harvest. It is creation in action.
Expressing our creativity is riding the flow, joining the movement of the vital force, it is participating in creation. There we discover we are not alone in the universe. Creativity expands our soul. It vivifies our body. It nourishes the heart. Creativity challenges our limiting, boring, repetitive beliefs, it gives us a break from thoughts, it changes our rhythm, and it connects us with life. Ultimately any creative act or thought heals.
We are perennially expressing ourselves in everything we do. Creativity invites us to do it more consciously, outside the expected tracks. Expression is contrary to repression and suppression. What is not brought to consciousness festers, like a sprout will rot if deprived of light and oxygen.
Bring creativity to how you notice the present, and to every choice, action, duty and commitment you have. Life becomes a dance. If you get busy in creativity there is less space for depression, loneliness, drudgery, boredom, anger, resentment and violence. You are simply having too much fun dancing with your soul and discovering new depths to bother with what is repetitive, sinking your spirit in the pits of paralysis and separating you from yourself and others.

Alison Palmer in the UK invited me to a conversation about how Creativity Heals a few days ago. I hope it inspires you to become more of you and use every opportunity to do so!
I let Alison describe the wonderful summit she has been organizing for years in her own words:
"Many of your already know that this summit is showing itself to have a very different energy from all the previous summits I have organized. All the interviews have been full of a tremendously strong undercurrent of love and a powerful energetic drive to connect out there in the world from this place. I have never experienced such strong energy before in a summit.
We all know strange things are happening on the planet, things we never could have imagined, and it seems that we are being called more than ever to be even more powerful leaders of Love, Connection, Communication, Compassion and Healing.
I know you will agree that the most important thing for us is to keep connecting to the Love, keep on taking a stand for Love and to reach out to as many people as possible. I hope that this summit will be one of the many ways we can do this."
Wishing you all a wonderful day,
The Global Health and Healing Summit
